31st Dec..

the final day of 2008 has come. After 365 days (leap year) the last day of the year has come. What happened today?
I had class at 8am till 9am. Business Strategy. This subject is going to be one of those subjects with a lot of work to do. Means I need to work extra hard to get an A for this suject!
For a long time, after 4 semesters being the same group, I am back in my orginal group. Still kinda miss my regular group. Had many great memories and fun times working togeher. I do want to look out for them, but now I have my orginal group. Btw, my orginal group consists of Sherney, Nurul and May. It been awhile since I last worked with them but I know for this final semester, there are going to be somemore great memories.
Hope that we (my group) will work hard for this final semester ( and we will do!)

Chee Heng and Me were looking for TDA (Deputy Dean of Academic) to ask about our further studies. He wasn't around as he was on leave. We hope that all goes as planned and that we can continue to study together in UTM.
Between MBA or Masters. But we prefer MBA as it has much better prospects. The requirement is 2 years job experience but we heard from our lecturer (En. A ) that we don't need the work experience to apply for it. Sounds great! That's why we need to enquire more from the TDA.

In the evening, me, pauline, alice, phoebe and shin cher went to the tasik to feed the fish. We
bought a loaf of bread (pandan flavor) to feed the fish. There were many fishys in the tasik (lake). The fishys were so happy that we giving them pandan bread.... hehe...
After that, I kinda left the gals behind at the tasik. They seem to be in their own world and I was the lamp post there. So, I just walk. Walk and walk. Soon, I reached the horse riding range. I saw the horses and then continued to walk to KTC and to the Counseling Centre before turning back. It was nice to able to be free and walk. It feels good to walk than just hanging about at the tasik. There is something about walking than makes me feel good. I think I walked around 2 KM plus.

Tonight I will going to celebrate New Year 2009 with my friends! =)

Wanted to go to balai cerap, but had to cancel that idea. Next time, when I go there I will be sure to bring back a lot of photos.

Back in UTM

Finally after a week of Raya holidays, I am back in UTM. The holidays went by quite fast... But it’s ok cause sooner or later I will be back here. Now have to continue with my assignments and other work. It’s going to be a busy week next week. From now on, I will do my best to update my blog everyday! =)

Tonight, I will meet up with my gang of friends and we will go to Taman U to have dinner! Sure there will be a lot to talk about after a week not seeing each other (even though we always chat on msn).

Tomorrow morning will be the ceremony for the new Vice Chancellor of UTM, Dato' Prof. Ir. Dr Zaini Ujang. Congrats to the new Vice Chancellor!

Saturday Night Fever

Yup, I have saturday night fever. Not to disco but to complete my assignments before going back to utm tomorrow. I just finished my english content for the portfolio. Now need to put all that content into a nice website format. Makes it look much more presentable than in just plain powerpoint. I will be using Dreamweaver for the first time to create the website. Wish me luck!

Saturday

Another Saturday and another two more days to go before my Raya holidays are finished. As I about to start typing this blog today, I was really waiting for my friend to reply me. Maybe she was busy or something… Then, just as I typed the title of the blog, she message me asking me about the Training Management group assignment; when to pass it up to me and that she doesn’t have the copy of the video interview. I told only next week she needs to pass it up to me. I am doing the video editing and the compiling of the whole parts of the group. I told her that I will email her the video plus the recording of the interview.
Back to my assignments, I still got my English Portfolio and my Adult Learning group assignment left. I really need to finish both up by today. Both assignments seem not that much but it will take time to complete them. I better go back to my assignments. I will keep you all updated later in the night.

PS: Naruto episodes 78-79 are not yet out (at this time of writing)….. Really hoping to watch the one hour special today…

At Jusco Terbau City…

Today afternoon, I went to Jusco Terbau City with my mum… and boy there were a lot of people. They were at everywhere! In the bookstore(Haris), supermarket and even at the toilet! Walk around seem like a battle through the thick crowd. But the day was nice though, I finally can spend some quality time with my mum. It’s been awhile since we went out together.

I bought my favourite Green Tea Ice Cream today. RM 2.50 now. To my surprise the person selling the ice cream was huge. I really mean it. She was 6’1’ or 6’2’ a bit taller than me. Look a bit scary buying my green tea ice cream for her. When I gave her my money, she just took it from me very fast. But I did not care, as long as I got my yummy yummy Green Tea Ice Cream! Plus they had a sign saying that the milk used in the ice cream was from Australia or New Zealand… Safe to eat!DSC02023

My Green Tea Ice Cream… I ate some first… It was so yummy yummy… =)

Mum’s Advise….
Mum told me to pay the parking ticket as soon as possible. At first I did not really bother about it. But later on I decided to pay it before going back as the counter was free. And luckily I followed her advise as the counters had long line of people lining up to pay their tickets… Wow… I thought there was some kind of sale going on with that long line but actually people just paying up..DSC02025 DSC02024

Having my breakfast now and will continue my other asgn. Will sleep later only. The battle continues…                                                                                           On the brighter side of things, I saw Rui En on tv. It’s been awhile since I last saw on tv. And boy, she is looking and sounding great. She really brighten up my day with her sweet smile and face! here is a picture of her for those who don’t know her.                                                                                                                ruien 2c3a44b7

Back home and on a misson

finally back home for the raya break. It has been lonely few days in the uni. Was by myself in my room (at uni) and my assignments with me. I finished a few of those assignments before coming back here. Now I am a simple guy on a mission. The mission is to complete my assignments as soon as possible! Currently, there's the Training Management journal review, English CV and the adult learning assignment left. Just three assignments but they are tedious. I will be keeping everyone out there up to date on my mission status. Wish me luck!

A Sign?

It was the 16th Sept. Two days back. I was really stressed up with the test next day and a lot of assignments to do...
Towards the night was really going to crack! My brain was going to explode! Brain over over load!
I was going to rip off from of my hair.... and the same time wishing that someone will help me out or give me a sign.
At that very moment, my phone rang! (11.50pm) I went to my phone and saw the number +11111112572.
I was surprise and wandering who was that. Knowing the phone scams out there, I did not pick up the phone. I just pressed the engage button.
Then within a few seconds later, the phone rang again. This time the phone showed an unknown number. I decided to pick it up and find out who it is.
I picked up and said hello. (with a nice tone). Then, I heard a faint sound in the background. It sounded like a hello or something. But I could not really make it out.
After that faint sound the phone line got cut. It then got me thinking about the phone call and it really calmed me.
I felt better and relaxed!
Till now I am wandering who was that on the other side. Someone trying to reach out to me???
A phone call that really made me thinking and saved my day!
Thank you!

what is Mesothelioma

I was wandering myself what is Mesothelioma? I found out Mesothelioma is one of the highest paying Adsense keywords. (including mesothelioma lawyers, peritoneal mesothelioma)
Other pricey words are consolidate loans, refinancing mortgage, tax attorney, car accident lawyer, ameriquest mortgage, mortgage refinance.

My first impression was that it was some kind of civilization or disease. My latter guess was right. A quick check at wikipedia, mesothelioma is is a form of cancer that is almost always caused by previous exposure to asbestos. In this disease, malignant cells develop in the mesothelium, a protective lining that covers most of the body's internal organs. Its most common site is the pleura (outer lining of the lungs and chest cavity), but it may also occur in the peritoneum (the lining of the abdominal cavity) or the pericardium (a sac that surrounds the heart). English is a Crazy Language

From: Charlie Indelicato

Let's face it -- English is a crazy language. There is no egg in eggplant
nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins
weren't invented in England or French fries in France. Sweetmeats are
candies while sweetbreads, which aren't sweet, are meat.

We take English for granted. But if we explore its paradoxes, we find that
quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is
neither from Guinea nor is it a pig.

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't
groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the
plural of booth beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? One index,
2 indices?

Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend, that you
comb through annals of history but not a single annal? If you have a bunch
of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

If teachers taught, why didn't preacher praught? If a vegetarian eats
vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? If you wrote a letter, perhaps
you bote your tongue?

Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum
for the verbally insane. In what language do people recite at a play and
play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that
run and feet that smell? Park on driveways and drive on parkways?

How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and
wise guy are opposites? How can overlook and oversee be opposites, while
quite a lot and quite a few are alike? How can the weather be hot as hell
one day and cold as hell another.

Have you noticed that we talk about certain things only when they are
absent? Have you ever seen a horseful carriage or a strapful gown? Met a
sung hero or experienced requited love? Have you ever run into someone who
was combobulated, gruntled, ruly or peccable? And where are all those
people who ARE spring chickens or who would ACTUALLY hurt a fly?

You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house
can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out
and in which an alarm clock goes off by going on.

English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the
creativity of the human race (which, of course, isn't a race at all). That
is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are
out, they are invisible. And why, when I wind up my watch, I start it, but
when I wind up this essay, I end it.

Thanks to Atikah for this..

two weeks...

yeap.. another two weeks more (this week and next) and my practical training will be over.

ThreatFire: additional layer of protection

ThreatFire is dramatically different to traditional antivirus software. Normal antivirus products usually need to have first identified and seen a threat before they can provide adequate protection against it. The protection is then provided via a signature or fingerprint update, which must first be written by an antivirus researcher. This creates a large window of time where threats are undetected and can therefore infect your PC even when you have antivirus software installed.

Speed Up Vista Part 2

Here is an very important tip. Defrag ur hardisk often. Use Auslogic Disk Defrag (free). It is light and does the job fast. You can set how much cpu power for it to use. It maybe a very simple tip but defraging your hardisk often does improve your performance, the system is more stable, and you will get better startup and shutdown times

Another tip, always keep your Vista updated. There are fixes that are released to make Vista run smoother.

Speed Up Vista Part 1

I know, i know.... Now that you have vista (or forced to have one) you just have to life with it... There is no going back unless formatting the whole pc. There is hope, don't despair. I have collected various ways to improve the speed of Vista. I have tried all of them out and can say my Vista is much more speedier! =)

1. Turn off Transparency
- This only off the cool mirror like effect, without fully turning off Aero .
- right click, the desktop and select Personalize
- then choose Window Color and Appearance panel
- uncheck the transparency box

2. Switch to Windows Vista Basic
- it's turns off the Aero, but you still have Vista appearance
- under Personalize,Window Color and Appearance panel
-click the link to "Open classic appearance properties for more color options." Select an option (Windows Vista Basic)
-Windows Vista Basic is much faster than Windows Classic (in Windows Vista)

Simple Way to Convert Files without a converter

I found this site too at RapidPremium forum. The website is ZAMZAR.
This a great website if you always wandered which program to use to convert which files... Or just want to convert files, the simplest way possible. Here it is, go to the site and select your file. Then, select you want to convert it to which format and type in our email address. When, Zamzar has converted the file, the file will be send to your email! SO EASY! Enjoy trying out the service!

Feed the people and become smart at same time

I was looking through the forums at RapidPremium and I came across an interesting thread. It was titled 'Free Rice'. So, I went into the thread and to my amazement, I don't get the free rice. The rice is actually for someone or some people. The people here are the poor people in the world.
The website is Free Rice FreeRice, tests the vocabulary of participants. For each click on a correct answer, the website donates money to buy 10 grains of rice. 10 grains don't seem much, but it will increase with every correct answer. The website was created in October last year and so far has raised 36 billion grains of rice. Great job!
So now it's your turn to do your part! Work hard and answer as many questions as you can. You will be helping others and yourself at the same time. (Two birds with one stone!)
